Samuel Beckett told me in a dream to write a play about nothing.

House lights lower, spotlight centre stage, curtains open. An empty stage.
Curtains close, spotlight lowers, house lights come on.

Who?

Features of Sam Birrell include writting short fiction, flash fiction, poetry, the odd 'play' and most of all, being a human. He 'writes' alternative lit that isn't all that alternative, nor that good.

He spends his time in cafes and pubs where he writes, reads and generally gets weird looks from those around him.

His influences include the works of Beckett, Hemingway, Kerouac, Pynchon, Noah Cicero, Burroughs, Joshua Mohr, Christopher Boucher, Sam Pink, Camus, Hubert Selby, Jr., Etgar Keret, and Erland Loe.

He also likes to refer to himself in third person when writing "about me".
